Hello Everyone, I'm back with the men's cards I promised. Don't really have a lot to say about them cause this is probably the 10th or more post for them all and I still have quite a few more to go! I will continue to post the reminder with the expectations of these cards just in case you're visiting for the first time or just happened to miss it.
A quick reminder of my goals for these cards:
- Easily mailed / no extra postage - Postal Service gets enough as it is in my opinion!
- Wide range of styles that reach out to the young men in our lives, the old or older, the tots, the ones who love jewelry, cuff links, rings, earrings (as so many of them wear now) etc. Basically those who love bling and those who don't!
- To use items from my stash that have been long forgotten about! A Must!
- To go back to what we did before the giant flowers, the fancy and not so fancy brads, the rhinestones, the glitter glues, the bulky embellishments etc.
- To get you all motivated enough to set time aside for making men's cards BEFORE you need them!
So, here we go! I do hope you enjoy them all and I hope you'll come back to visit! Take Care and as always, Thanks for stopping by!

I actually did several of this style card. I have them all represented here with the few I've chosen. I drew out a jar and lid the size I wanted for my cards, transferred the drawings to cardboard as patterns, cut them out, transferred the jar body onto vellum paper and transferred the lid pattern onto a very shiny silver paper I have, cut out as many as needed. I really don't remember what I used to engrave the grooves in the lids, but any tool you have with a pointed tip will do. I positioned the bug that I wanted inside the jar and glued the jar over top then added the lids. Once they were all glued down and secure, I just doodled around the jars with a fine tip marker (either my Creative Memories or my sharpie) and that was that. Oh, I also doodled around some of the bugs to give them movement. I thought it would be funny to put the ladybugs on the outside of the jars as a "Ha-Ha" to the caught bug.
This card is made up of rub-ons and a stamped sentiment. There are 4 more below.
On this card, I used all stickers except the horse image. That horse image was cut from a book my friend purchased from a clearance sale at our local Library! She purchased the book with the intentions of using the images for her cards.
Stamped sentiment on an old Paper Pizazz tag and put a gold brad through it. That's it for now! Thanks again for coming to see me! Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. :-)
Hi Bethann, I always did like those "bug cards" you made. I also like the "Paris" cards- that is somewhere I would like to check out one day. I think my favorite is the very last card. I like the colors and the sentiment in the mini envelope adds nice interest to the flat design. Thanks again! Be back soon....
