THE WAIT IS OVER!!!

Well, I know some of you have been really waiting for this post so here it is! I've actually completed almost 500 cards! YES THAT'S RIGHT, almost 500 cards!!! Never before in my cardmaking history has this happened in such a short period of time. I don't know exactly what happened. First let me tell you that my goal for this year was to start using up my older inventory and things that I already had! That was my real motivation for this post, other than I'm kind of tired of seeing sooooo many cards out here for the women in our lives and hardly any for the men! We tend not to make a card for "him" until we need one and why is that ladies??? Let's show our men some love! This post has cards for men of all kinds of taste, I've got hunting, racing, cars (general) and classic, sports of all kinds, including golfing, for men that like a little bit of bling (let's face it, most of us if not all of us know at least 1 man who likes jewelry just as much as we do!), vintage for the older men in our lives, I've also thrown in a few for the little men in our lives (not too many of those)!

Do you remember when stickers, cut-outs, punch-outs etc. were REALLY popular? Well, I accumulated a bunch just like the rest of you. If you've been doing this for any length of time, you know what I'm talking about! I actually started out scrapbooking so I ended up with a lot of stickers and papers from Creative Memories just to name one company. My goal for these cards was to make them, for the most part, easily mailed, keep them pretty simple and understated since they are for the guys, and to use what I already had like my stickers, punch-outs, and cut-outs and also to incorporate those cut-out saved images I've accumulated over the years from magazines and calendars!!!

Well, now you know what I use to do in my spare time... trust me when I say, "I do not look at anything the same as before I started card-making! I don't know about you but, NOTHING IS SAFE! Since I have so very many cards done for this post title, I'll be loading them over the next few weeks I'm sure! I have no idea how many or how often I will load because my illness is so unpredictable, you'll just have to check back often. If you're in my email list you'll automatically receive the new post announcements. Sooooo without further ado-do!  :-)

I will be loading these cards according to groupings so you can see how different each card looks using the same papers! Always Thanks for stopping by,
Bethann aka PawwPadd

  1. Hi Bethann

Wow, well done!! What a great range of men's cards.

Can't wait to see more of what you have created with your stash of stickers and cutouts.

  2. Hi Bethann, WELL! I am one of those that has been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for this post! I am one of the many who has a real problem with the male greeting card. But I look at the images they put on male cards in the store, and they are frequently ridiculous! We stress ourselves too much when we make them from scratch! I am so happy to be able to benefit from your creativity. I have lots of stickers and these posts will help me immensely to try to utilize these items in my stash. I have a few favorites from this post, the cards with the golfers and the golf bags look very good. I love your background paper, it looks great. OK. I better get ready for work! Looking forward to the next installment, I'm sooo jealous...! ; D (May I have some?) : )

  3. Holy Moly, Girllllll! I had to read and re-read that number of cards several times~good for you! Great guy cards and great inspiration for using all of the "old", "hold-for-someday", and "what the heck was I thinking buying these" crafts in our stashes! My DH is building some drawers in a cabinet he built in my Craft room and when I pulled out all of my 'stuff' to put in the new drawers, I just couldn't believe what I had and what I totally forgot about!

  6. Well done, Bethann! I can't speak for all men, but I enjoy ANYTHING that you, Rachel or anyone takes the time to create for me. It could be unicorns ridden by leprechauns on damask! (See? I'm learning from you both :) )

Rachel made the point the store-bought cards for men are ridiculous. I would say that store-bought cards are all ridiculous, because they are generic out of necessity. When you take the time to craft a card, you put in something that speaks to your understanding of the recipient. That's why Hallmark is scrambling to keep up with the personal greeting card businesses like SendOutCards.

Anyway, is that 500 in 1 year?
    The number alone is awesome!

    Cheers,

    Mitch
